Wilmington | November 2, 2009 - Today, Delaware Congressman Mike Castle hosted local businesses, career advisors and Delaware Secretary of Labor John McMahon for Delaware Works! A Career, Skills, and Networking Expo at Delaware Technical and Community College's Stanton Campus.  The expo brought together over 30 business and organizations to profile job openings in our community, available State resources, and offer free resume and networking services for jobseekers.

"While unemployment rates continue to rise, it has never been more important to keep people connected," said Rep. Castle.  "Today, we were fortunate to have over 30 local employers and job training and assistance organizations at Delaware Works! on hand to provide Delawareans with information about job openings, workforce training, and networking opportunities.  Among the industries represented today, it is also important to note that Delaware's green industry is becoming more prominent in our state.  Thanks to the employers and the career advisors on hand, over 200 Delawareans participated."
 
In addition to the 16 employers who participated, participants had access to a dozen career counselors and networking specialists who were on hand to help with resumes, networking skills and career advice.  Dress for success was also on hand, providing clothing for many Delawareans in need of business attire.
